Client stories

Comments from category and finance contacts who commissioned reporting work with us — including one measured reservation.

“They rebuilt our on-time figures by lane instead of one company-wide average. The late shippers finally stood out in the quarterly pack — though we still had to chase two vendors for missing receipt dates ourselves.”
Mei Ling Cheung · Procurement manager, mid-size electronics trader, Kwun Tong
“The pre-negotiation briefing for our packaging renewals listed price moves against the last eighteen months of deliveries. Our buyer walked into the meeting with specifics rather than a gut feeling.”
Adrian Ho · Category lead, consumer goods importer
“Spend category review on freight and bonded warehouse fees clarified where volume had drifted to a second forwarder. The write-up was short enough that finance actually read it before the budget meeting.”
Priya Nair · Finance controller, regional distribution firm
“Facilitating our internal supplier review kept the room on exceptions. One scorecard still needed a manual correction after we found a duplicated PO line — they flagged it in the notes rather than burying it.”
Thomas Kwok · Supply chain director, light manufacturing

Extended note: packaging renewals for an importer

An importer of household goods asked for a pre-negotiation briefing ahead of annual packaging renewals. Their challenge was not a lack of invoices — it was three years of mixed descriptions for the same carton grades.

We mapped descriptions to five internal grades, rebuilt price history for the current contract term, and listed on-time delivery by mill. The buyer used the pack in two supplier meetings. One mill disputed a late-delivery count; the dispute traced to a receipt-date gap in the importer’s own warehouse log, which we had already footnoted. The meeting moved on to price rather than arguing the arithmetic.

Outcome for the client: a clearer agenda, and a written trail showing where the data was thin. That transparency mattered more than a polished single score.

Extended note: quarterly reviews at a light manufacturer

A light manufacturer in the New Territories had been running supplier reviews from slide decks rebuilt each quarter by a rotating junior buyer. Numbers drifted between meetings. After a Supplier Performance Reporting setup, Panel Nestcore now refreshes the scorecards each quarter and facilitates the internal session.

The first facilitated review still ran long because two category owners arrived without reading the exception register. We shortened the next agenda and sent the register three days earlier. Subsequent sessions stayed inside ninety minutes and produced a dated action list.
